Obiri, who set a course record of 2:22:31 in 2023, once again showcased her exceptional endurance and speed. She broke away from the pack with just a few kilometers remaining, holding off a challenge from American Sara Hall to secure her second consecutive Boston Marathon crown.
Lemma, the 2021 Tokyo Olympic runner-up, proved unstoppable in the men's race. He surged ahead early on and maintained a steady lead throughout the 42-kilometer course. His victory time of 2:07:40 marked the third-fastest time in the history of the Boston Marathon.
