Boston Celtics Defeat Indiana Pacers 133-128 in Game 1
In a thrilling start to the 2024 Eastern Conference finals, the Boston Celtics escaped with a hard-fought 133-128 overtime victory over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. Despite trailing by 11 points in the fourth quarter, the Celtics rallied to force an extra period thanks to a clutch three-pointer by Jaylen Brown with just over a minute remaining.
Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with a dominant performance, scoring 36 points on 14-of-24 shooting from the field. Tatum also added 12 rebounds and seven assists in a complete all-around effort. Brown, who struggled with his shot for much of the game, finished with 18 points, while Marcus Smart added 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
The Pacers, who had won three straight games heading into the series, were led by Tyrese Haliburton's 31 points. Domantas Sabonis also had a strong game with 26 points and 19 rebounds, while Buddy Hield added 18 points.
