Phillies win 5-1 vs Dodgers to Complete Three-Game Sweep
Schwarber Powers Phillies with 3 Homers
Sánchez Shines for Six Innings
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (AP) - Kyle Schwarber led the Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, completing the three-game sweep for the Phillies.
Schwarber, who also doubled and walked, hit a solo home run off Dodgers starter Shohei Ohtani in the first inning and added two more solo shots off the bullpen in the fifth and seventh innings.
Phillies starter Cristopher Sánchez turned in a strong six-inning outing, allowing just one run on three hits and two walks while striking out five batters. The bullpen of Nick Nelson, Andrew Bellatti, and Brad Hand combined to finish the game and hold the Dodgers to only four hits.
The victory gives the Phillies a season-series win over the Dodgers. If the two teams finish the regular season tied, the Phillies will have the upper hand in determining the National League playoff seeding.
